About the role

The Account Manager is responsible for fostering relationships with external customers to ensure freight is transported per customer needs. This position is responsible for facilitating the daily operations, routinely looking for ways to reduce the customers cost while increasing Dirt Gopher’s revenue and margin.

What you will do:

  • Provide work direction to team members assigned to the account and facilitate professional development of team members to improve bench strength.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for dedicated transportation management customers; fostering relationships that are mutually beneficial for both our customers and Kenco that result in increased revenue and margin for Transportation Management.

  • Prepare routine reports for customers outlining carrier’s performance and shipment activity; utilize data to look for opportunities to improve services provided.

  • Maintain fluid communications with internal and external stakeholders regarding established performance metrics and provide insight as needed; ensuring alignment with strategic directives.

  • Actively manage applicable budgetary items; including but not limited to, freight claims with carriers, payment of freight invoices and accurate reconciliation of P&L.

What you'll need

  • Bachelors in Logistics, Accounting or Finance or equivalent transportation management work experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience within transportation management services (i.e. load planning, carrier management or customer service).

  • Strong PC skills and proficient with all Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing fast paced environment
